Raw Food Cured My Beagle's Allergies
My beagle, Karma, had a condition called, "paroxysmal respiration"
or a "reverse sneeze" where she seemed to be trying to
inhale a sneeze. She seemed to be having difficulty catching her
breath and would make a snorting sound. To make matters worse, we
have another dog that we rescued who feels the need to control chaos
and would attack Karma every time she had one of these episodes.
I was at my wit's end and feeling so bad for my little beagle.
I was told the source of Karma's problem was probably allergies
and that it was difficult to determine exactly what she was allergic
to. She would have more frequent attacks during the pollen season,
so we installed an air filter, bathed her frequently and washed
her bedding regularly to minimize pollen. It helped some, but it
wasn't until we started her on raw food that we started to see some
real results.
I asked a human raw foods specialist about how raw meats and vegetables
help dogs. He explained that raw foods retain their enzymes and
the enzymes help with the assimilation of nutrients. When humans
and animals absorb these nutrients, their immune system gets stronger
and they are able to fight off disease, infections and even allergies
more effectively.
In the beginning, we would buy raw meats and prepare the meals
ourselves, but our busy lifestyle and the inconvenience of getting
to the market a couple of times a week made us very inconsistent.
But we noticed a trend ... when Karma had raw food, she had no reverse
sneezes, but when we slacked off and gave her the regular (high
quality) commercial dog food, she had episodes.
I needed a better, more convenient solution for keeping Karma on
the raw food. A friend introduced me to Carol. What a Godsend! We
have seen a huge change in Karma since she's been on raw food--no
more episodes, and a much greater peace of mind for me!

| When we brought Maggie home from the Humane Society, her "doggy
breath" was so bad I winced when she wanted to get close to
my face. We switched her to raw food over a period of about a week,
and within three weeks her breath was fresh. Now it's a pleasure
to be around her! After a year on raw food, her coat is soft instead
of rough, and she has lots of energy for running alonside my bike!

Sweet Pea has always been a picky eater, so we were surprised
to see her eat the raw food with relish! She seems to be more satisfied
now between meals and has more energy.

I was getting concerned about my pug Rowdy's weight, so I switched
him to raw food. He's slimmed down, and has lots more energy and
a softer coat.

My owner, Jonathan, tried to transition me gradually to raw food by mixing a Pet Patty with my dry dog food. But he didn't fool me--I picked the bits of meat out of the kibble and refused to eat any more of the dry dog food. I know what's good for me--I'm a growing puppy!

We offered to take Lucy Longdog home to die. She was infected
with heartworms, and so overweight her tummy dragged the ground.
Her owners had small children and couldn't take care of her, so
we offered hospice care for her last days. We brought her home and
put her on raw food, just like our other dogs, and began her heartworm
treatment, which we didn't expect her to survive. Well, she did,
and after being on raw food for about 60 days, had slimmed down
enough and had enough energy to run with the Dobermans! She's been
part of our pack for a year now, and her tail never stops wagging!
